Oh Dong-woon, head of the Criminal Investigation Department for high-ranking government officials, said he is considering whether Kim Gun-hee violated the Political Fund Act on suspicion of intervening in the nomination.

Director Oh said in a parliamentary audit of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee today (14th) that the alleged violation of the Political Fund Act falls under the scope of the investigation by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, and that Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure who is the counterpart of a high-ranking public official, is not subject to the investigation by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit.

At the same time, he demanded that there should be a revision of related laws so that even non-high-ranking officials can investigate.

Earlier, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit allocated the case of President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, former People's Power lawmaker Kim Young-sun, and Myung, who were accused by civic groups of intervening in the nomination.

In addition, Director Oh said he is investigating Kim's luxury bag case, which was not prosecuted by the prosecution, as "an allegation of mediation," and that he will consider whether to confiscate it.
