Regarding the recognition of industrial accidents by the late Jeong Seul-ki, a late-night rocket delivery engineer on Coupang, it has been confirmed that Jeong has been working at fixed night without a break of six days a week.

According to the Korea Labor Welfare Corporation's report on occupational diseases, Jung worked 74 hours and 24 minutes for a week before his death, and has worked for an average of 73 hours and 21 minutes for 12 weeks.

The figure far exceeds the Ministry of Employment and Labor's notification standard, which considers work to be highly related to illness if it exceeds 60 hours per week on average for 12 weeks and 64 hours per week on average for 4 weeks.

The corporation also determined that Jeong's mental tension caused by delivery deadline in addition to working fixed overtime six days a week had a clear effect on the normal function of the cardiovascular system.

Regarding the recognition of the industrial accident, Coupang CLS expressed its desire to express condolences and apologies to the deceased and their bereaved families who died while working on Coupang-related work.

Chung, who has worked as a Coupang Quickplex driver since March last year, was taken to a hospital after collapsing at his residence in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, on the afternoon of May 28, but died of cardiovascular disease.
