Minjoo Yang Moon-seok said, "Gisaeng remarks apologize to those who passed on intangible cultural properties...Reflecting on the expression without careful consideration".

Rep. Yang Moon-seok of the Democratic Party of Korea said in a recent parliamentary audit that he sincerely apologized to those who were hurt by misleading expressions, especially those who passed on national intangible cultural properties.Rep.


Yang wrote on social media, saying, "No matter how good the intention was, I took seriously the criticism that it was rough and used without fully considering the meaning of the expression and reflected on my lack of prudence."

He then explained that the National Assembly asked him about the reality that the performance of intangible cultural properties is exploited by state agencies without fair compensation and that he wanted to correct it.Rep.

Yang said at the parliamentary audit of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee on the 10th, "Are they gisaengs?" about Korean traditional musicians performing Gayageum and other performances during the Cheong Wa Dae luncheon meeting between First Lady Kim Gun-hee and senior citizens and students of intangible heritage in April last year.

About 20 Korean musicians, including intangible heritage gayageum masters and pansori masters, held a press conference at the National Assembly and demanded an apology from Representative Yang.
