In Missouri, the U.S., a law that required a "no Halloween candy" sign to be placed in front of a sex offender's house was found unconstitutional.

A judge in Missouri's federal district court found the regulations unconstitutional, contrary to the First and Fourteenth Amendments, which set forth the guarantee of freedom of expression and citizenship.

In response, human rights activist Arthur Benson hailed it as a natural ruling, but Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said he would immediately appeal, CNN reported. The

'Halloween Candy No' labeling law was enacted in 2008 to protect children who travel around the neighborhood and receive candy on Halloween.

The law, which prevents sex offenders from talking to children or turning on lights on Halloween, will continue to apply on the sidelines of the ruling.
