Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said that the population crisis is the most important national task and that he is doing his best to believe that it is the last golden time.

The Prime Minister attended the 'Happy Child' event today, referring to the number of births in July rising for the first time in 12 years and the number of marriages.

He then stressed that he would create an environment where work and family are compatible, so that he could take care of his family while working through flexible work and parental leave support.

Han said he is seeking to establish a population strategy planning department, a comprehensive control tower covering both low birth rate, aging and immigration policies, adding that he will try to ensure that related bills pending in the National Assembly are passed as soon as possible.
