YTN Star recently met actor Kim Dong-wook, who appeared in the Disney+ original series 'Gangmae Gang' at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and heard behind the scenes of his work.The title

'Gangmaegang' is short for 'not strong but attractive strong class'. It is a comic investigation in which the nation's last-place strong team and Dong-Aubin (Kim Dong-wook), the new leader of the super elite, meet and become the strongest team. In the play, Kim Dong-wook is a Dongbang Yubin who graduated from the police academy and trained as an FBI leader. She's an elite, but she showed off her comic performance as a goofy cop, saying she's 2% short somewhere.Author Lee Young-chul, who co-directed the
{Racket Boys} drama 'Racket Boys', wrote the script, which was written by Ahn Jong-yeon, who co-directed the sitcom 'High Kick' series.

A total of 20 episodes, Gangmaegang, has a longer breathing compared to the shorter OTT series these days. In response, Kim Dong-wook explained, "Since it was a 20-episode series, we could have played 10 and done 10 in season 2, but on the other hand, we saw the advantage of being able to show it to those who enjoy us at once without a season concept."

He also said, "In the past, it may be considered consideration for viewers to release 20 at a time without sharing the pictures as if they had been taken," and added, "It was about 45 minutes per episode, so the actors didn't feel long." Regarding the continuous emergence of various events in the

play, Kim Dong-wook said, "It gets more interesting as we go into the second half. Don't you think we need a character explanation at the beginning? There were many things to explain from the first part to the fourth part. There are many things to show the full-fledged team incident in the second half," he stressed.

This is Kim Dong-wook, who appeared again in the comic genre five years after MBC's "Special Labor Supervisor Jo Jang-pung." "Jo Jang Poong" is also the work that won him the grand prize at the acting award. Kim Dong-wook, who has mainly played serious roles such as lawyers and reporters since winning the Grand Prize. "I've been thirsty for comic acting," he said. When I first saw the script, I thought I could read it quickly without feeling bored and make an interesting work," he said.

It is Kim Dong-wook's idea that Dongbang Yubin comes out with a rather long hairstyle. He said, "Isn't it the setting that Dongbang Yu-bin leaves the front line and comes to work and volunteers for a violent class to be appointed as a class president? In that respect, I thought it would be nice to feel a little different from the typical violent crime detective," he said.

'Gangmae Gang' is also related to Kim Dong-wook's marriage. This is because he reported on his marriage to Stella Kim, a former SM Entertainment trainee, in December last year while filming "Gangmae Gang." The public's attention was even hotter because the news was suddenly reported without a single romantic relationship. "Gangmae Gang" is also his first work to be released after marriage.

Kim Dong-wook said, "There is nothing different about getting married. This work was not more meaningful just because they had a wedding while filming Gangmaegang. "Because a work is a work, regardless of that, I always film with the hope that I have to do 'best' and always do the best," he said.

Regarding the fact that there has been no love scandal for more than 20 years in his acting career, he said, "I don't usually take care of myself thoroughly. It's really just at home.
