'Kim Yeon-kyung 16 points' Heungkuk Life defeated Hyundai Engineering & Construction to win the opening game.

Heungkuk Life Insurance, which has been runner-up for two consecutive seasons in women's professional volleyball, beat "defending champion" Hyundai Engineering & Construction to win the opening game.

Heungkuk Life defeated Hyundai Engineering & Construction 3-1 in the women's volleyball opening match at Suwon Gymnasium.

The Volleyball Empress' Kim Yeon-koung showed off her world-class skills by scoring 16 points, while new foreign player Tutku made a brilliant debut with 21 points.

Jung Yoon-joo also scored 12 points, playing a role as a wing striker who was pointed out as Heungkuk Life's weakness.
