Over 1.5 Billion Apartment Deals Share This Year, Highest Since 2020

As real estate prices rise, the proportion of high-priced apartment transactions nationwide this year is the highest in the last five years.

According to the data received by Rep. Lee Yeon-hee of the Democratic Party of Korea from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, there were 303,890 apartment sales nationwide by August this year.

Of these, 221 apartments worth more than 1.5 billion won accounted for 3.36%.

It is the first time since 2020 that the proportion of over 1.5 billion expensive apartments has exceeded 3%.

By year, the proportion of apartment transactions worth more than 1.5 billion won was 1.19% in 2020, 1.57% in 2021, 1.01% in 2022, and 2.03% last year.

This year, the proportion of more than 1.5 billion won is expected to increase as only transactions reported until August are included.

This increase in proportion is due to a series of high-priced transactions in the Gangnam area of Seoul.

More than 1.5 billion apartment transactions in Seoul are 8,460 this year, accounting for 82.77% of high-priced transactions across the country.

This year, ultra-high-priced transactions of more than 3 billion won have also been active, the highest in the past five years.
