"Prediction of winning the lottery with patent technology"...Fraud damage watch

The Korean Intellectual Property Office warned that more and more people are deceiving consumers by advertising that they accurately predict the lottery winning number under the symbol of the Korean government or that they have increased the accuracy of predicting winning numbers with patent technology.

According to the Korea Consumer Agency, a total of 1,917 applications for damage relief related to the lottery winning number prediction service have reached over the past five years.

The Korean Intellectual Property Office explained that if the government misunderstands it as if it guarantees its quality or uses the expression "Lotto prediction service" that received a patent even though the patent application is not registered, it could face up to three years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million won for violating the current law.

If a false indication is suspected, it can be reported to the One-Stop Reporting Counseling Center for Intellectual Property Infringement or the False Indication Reporting Center for Intellectual Property Rights.
