A professor at Korea Polytechnic University, a government-affiliated public vocational education institution, has been handed over to the prosecution on suspicion of stealing students' names.

However, it was found that the school rather conducted a funeral on campus, but the school said it did not know the details of the investigation.

Professor A from Korea Polytechnic University filed a compensation suit against school officials in December 2020 over personnel issues.

Students also participated in the lawsuit, claiming that they suffered damage to their right to study due to inappropriate personnel measures against professors, including themselves.

This included more than 150 students, and it turned out that they stole the names of some students who did not know the contents of the lawsuit properly or had no intention of doing so.

After this fact was discovered, Professor A was handed over to the prosecution in May on charges of forgery of private documents, exercise of forged private documents, and attempted fraud in litigation.

However, Professor A turned out to be rather spiritual within the university.

He was appointed to a high-ranking position in the school corporation despite allegations of crimes related to students.

The school said it was not aware of the professor's name theft at the time of personnel appointments on campus, and explained that it would take action after reviewing the contents of the professor's transfer to the prosecution.

[Kang Deuk-gu / Minjoo Party member: It is common sense that personnel appointments should be excluded from the personnel appointments until the results of the investigation come out]/ When the personnel appointments are subject to major personnel appointments, it is common sense to verify and skip them once through self-investigation..]Professor

A denied the allegations, saying that nothing has been revealed yet and that the prosecution is investigating.

However, some point out that since Professor A was involved in the allegation that the victim was a student, it is inappropriate in the educational field to make a spiritual appointment that seems to be already given an indulgence.
