The number of specialists who resigned from major university hospitals for seven months from February, when the parliamentary conflict began, has increased slightly compared to the same period last year.

According to the data received by Representative Han Ji-ah from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, 2,757 specialists resigned from 88 major university hospitals nationwide from February to August this year, up 7% from the same period last year.

By subject, internal medicine was the most common at 31%, followed by pediatric and adolescent departments, orthopedic surgery, and surgery.

It was estimated that the increase in the number of specialists' resignations was also affected by the increase in the burden of specialists in the hospital due to the departure of their majors.
