Han Ki-jung, chairman of the Fair Trade Commission, said he will conduct a survey on the paid membership system in the performing arts world, which provides pre-sale benefits.

Chairman Han Ki-jung responded to a question from Kang Hoon-sik of the Democratic Party of Korea that paid membership in the performing arts industry violates consumer rights during a parliamentary inspection of the National Assembly's political affairs committee on the FTC today.

Representative Kang pointed out that even if there is a pre-sale benefit, it is fair to leave a certain percentage of seats empty, saying that it is natural to sign up for paid membership due to pre-sale benefits at popular performances such as the Seoul Arts Center, Interpark, and K-pop agencies.

In response, Han Ki-jung, chairman of the Fair Trade Commission, said, "I agree with the awareness of the problem and will prepare for a fact-finding survey and a review of the terms and conditions."
