[Gyeonggi] Yongin City to put 'Pedestrian Safety Center' into construction sites starting next year.

Yongin City will put the "Pedestrian Safety Center" into the construction site from next year to guarantee citizens' safe walking rights.


The pedestrian safety center is put into construction sites such as pedestrian road maintenance and gas pipeline reclamation, and serves to guide citizens to safely detour to temporary walkways.

Earlier last month, the Yongin City Council enacted the "Ordinance on the Operation of the Walking Safety Center at Construction Workplaces" to provide a legal basis for the introduction of the Walking Safety Center.The city of

will recruit 100 people on a first-come, first-served basis by the 20th of next month to put pedestrian safety centers in the construction site starting next year.

The safety center can be applied to any resident aged 18 to 65 in the jurisdiction.

Safety guards work eight hours a day on site.

The salary is worth about 165,000 won per day, subject to the "ordinary worker wage in the construction industry unit price construction sector" announced by the Korea Construction Association.

The safety center will be put into the field after completing basic safety and health education in the construction industry under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the pedestrian safety center curriculum conducted by the city.
