The temperature in Seoul dropped to 7.1 degrees this morning, making it the coldest this fall.

In Seokpo-myeon, Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the morning temperature fell to minus 0.4 degrees Celsius, while in Imnam-myeon, Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, the temperature fell to minus 4.2 degrees Celsius.

Paju recorded 2.7 degrees, Geochang 2.9 degrees, and Jangsu 3.3 degrees, while Eunpyeong-gu dropped to 3.6 degrees, which is lower than the official temperature.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said cold and dry air fell south from the northwest overnight and added radiation cooling effects, causing temperatures to drop significantly below 10 degrees in most of the country, resulting in colder weather than usual.

However, it is expected to return to autumn weather at this time of year, with temperatures in Seoul rising to 19 degrees Celsius from daytime due to the cold in the morning.
