A large fire at the USFK supply warehouse in Busan last evening was extinguished this morning after overnight extinguishing work.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but I will connect with a reporter to find out the situation on the spot. The car is a reporter!

Is the light completely off?

Even now, smoke is constantly spewing from the fire site, but there is no fire like yesterday.

You can also see a warehouse that looks like it's going to collapse over the fence, and it looks like it's burned black and only the skeleton is left.

The first time the fire was reported was around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

It took 13 hours to catch the big fire and go into the first round of cleaning up the remaining fire.

The fire is believed to have started in a freezer in the unit.

Yesterday, there was a plumbing work to use the warehouse for other purposes, and fire reports continued about an hour after the workers left the site.

Construction materials, urethane and rubber were stored in the warehouse, and there were no munitions or harmful chemicals.

Citizens who witnessed the fire said it was initially a small fire and then grew into a large fire that burned the entire warehouse.

The fire seems to have spread rapidly because the warehouse was built with sandwich panels that are vulnerable to fire.

Black smoke came out for a long time with a large fire, but fortunately, the wind blew toward the waterfront opposite the city center, so the damage was not significant.

In addition, the fire did not spread to other buildings in the unit thanks to the fire authorities' focus on preventing the expansion of combustion.

After the residual fire is cleared, a full-fledged investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to take place, but it is unlikely that our fire department and police will be able to intervene.

The 55 supply window on fire is a military security facility that stores U.S. Forces Korea equipment, and is an extraterritorial area under the SOFA, the U.S. Forces Korea status agreement.

The agreement stipulates that the United States has the primary right to investigate crimes against the body or property of members of the U.S. military.

As a result, our police cannot conduct on-site investigations and inspections.

The U.S. military also put out the fire with the help of our fire department, but it is unclear whether the cause of the fire will be disclosed because it did not request separate cooperation regarding the investigation.

It was found that the U.S. military plans to send a separate fire investigation team to the scene.

So far, this is Cha Sang-eun from YTN at the site of the fire at the U.S. military warehouse in Busan.
