Seven officials from Arisel's parent company Econec, which killed 23 people in a factory fire, have been handed over to prosecutors on charges of military corruption.

The Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency sent seven former and current executives and employees of Econec to the prosecution today (25th) on charges of obstruction of business and fraud.

Among them, employee Lee was handed over to the prosecution in custody.

They are accused of obstructing the Ministry of National Defense's work by manufacturing a separate battery for quality inspection and replacing it with a sample to pass the quality inspection for primary battery military delivery.

Lee and others were found to have manipulated test data in the process of delivering batteries worth 8.2 billion won from 2017 to 2018.
