The U.S. has launched an audit of Israel's arms aid.

According to Bloomberg News on the 24th, the U.S. Department of Defense disclosed in a press release that it has started to check the use and management of weapons such as U.S.-made missiles, drones, and night vision goggles that have supported Israel so far.

The United States, which has continued to provide weapons to Israel, has sent various weapons to Israeli forces since the terrorist attacks by Palestinian militant Hamas on October 7.

They included laser-guided missiles attached to Apache helicopters, 155mm shells, night vision goggles, bunker-buster warheads and combat vehicles.

However, some in the United States, as well as the international community, are criticized for the use of U.S.-made weapons supported by Israel to kill civilians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lack of sufficient consultation with the United States in expanding the scope of attacks not only to Hamas but also to neighboring countries such as Lebanon has also reportedly increased fatigue in the Joe Biden administration.

The Pentagon, however, drew a line that the audit had nothing to do with claims by international human rights groups, and said claims that Israel used U.S. weapons on civilians were not subject to the audit.
