A trilateral high-level meeting will be held next week in Japan to prepare for the Korea-China-Japan summit.

Deputy Foreign Minister Chung Byung-won, Japanese Foreign Minister Takehiro Funakoshi and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong will meet in Tokyo on the 28th to examine the current status of trilateral cooperation and discuss future plans.

In particular, the agenda and schedule of the trilateral summit scheduled to be held in Japan next year are expected to be discussed in a large framework.

Korea, China and Japan agreed to hold a summit in May and make it regular.

The trilateral high-level meeting, along with the Summit and the Foreign Ministers' Meeting, is the main channel of dialogue between the trilateral governments, which has been held a total of 14 times since the first meeting in May 2007.
