Lee Jae-myung's recording of "Wirye and Daejang-dong" was played...Prosecution "Attestation of Charges"

The prosecution released the related recordings in court, saying it is evidence that Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, was aware of the unfair intervention of private businesses in the Wirye New Town development project.

In a trial held today (25th) by the Seoul Central District Court, the prosecution played a 40-minute recording of Lee talking to residents of Wirye New Town as Seongnam Mayor in October 2016.

The recording said CEO Lee sold the business rights to Seongnam City by finding out where to give financial benefits, and in fact, the construction company does the actual business and the city has no direct authority.

The prosecution denied that CEO Lee had been briefed on how the construction company participated in the project at the time, but stressed that he sold the rights of Seongnam City.

He also pointed out that CEO Lee knew exactly that he had secured the right to implement it.

In response, CEO Lee refuted that the prosecution is making false claims, saying that it is covering the entire case with some recordings three years after the incident occurred.

He explained that it was just an impromptu answer within the scope of the question and answer with the complainant without clear information.
