At around 6:15 p.m. yesterday (26th), a part of a two-story building in Yongsan-dong 3-ga, Seoul, collapsed.
There were no casualties in the accident because there were no residents of the building, but residents of nearby houses were evacuated and access was restricted.
The 50-year-old collapsed building, which was approved for use in 1974, is said to have recently been undergoing interior construction for use as a general restaurant.
Police and fire authorities believe that one outer wall of the building collapsed and the two-story roof collapsed one after another.
Yongsan-gu Office said it has evacuated residents of nearby houses in preparation for further collapse and plans to demolish the building today (27th) to prevent a second accident.
