The inland haze, which had been thick until morning, has been resolved, but the concentration of ultrafine dust in Chungnam, following Incheon, is also showing a "bad" level.

Due to the influence of the east wind, the east coast is raining with rather strong winds.

I'll connect you to a reporter.

Reporter Kim Min-kyung, the concentration of ultrafine dust in Chungnam, as well as Incheon, is 'bad'?

[Reporter]
Yes, if the average ultrafine dust concentration per hour exceeds 36μg per cubic meter, it is classified as 'bad'.

As of 1 p.m., the average hourly ultrafine dust concentration in Incheon is still 41μg per cubic meter, which is in the "bad" stage.

Following Incheon, the concentration of ultrafine dust in Chungnam-do is 37μg per cubic meter, slightly exceeding the standard, which is "bad."

This is due to the stagnation of the atmosphere amid the inflow of smog from China overnight, and the accumulation of ultra-fine dust as the east wind blows and the airflow converges.

The National Institute of Environmental Research said that the concentration of ultrafine dust in Incheon and Chungnam is gradually decreasing, and predicted that it will be resolved in the afternoon.

With visibility less than 200m in most inland areas by morning, fog is very thick,

In particular, the haze, which is a mixture of fog and dust, clouded the view.

As the temperature gradually rose and the fog cleared, the haze is now gone.

In the fall season, fog is thick from night to morning due to a large daily temperature difference, and air quality is expected to deteriorate more often for the time being as smog from China begins to flow in.

It's raining on the east coast?

[Reporter]
Yes, due to the influence of the east wind, it has been raining on the east coast since dawn.

Rain is expected to gradually expand inland, such as parts of Gyeongbuk and southern Chungcheongbuk-do, and the coast of Jeollanam-do.

The amount of rain is not large.

It is expected to be 5 to 30mm on the east coast of Gangwon-do, and 5 to 10mm on the inland areas such as the east coast of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Busan, and Ulsan.

However, it is expected that the wind speed will be accompanied by a rather strong wind speed of 15m per second, so care should be taken in facility management.

Most of the rain will stop by today, but Jeju Island is expected to receive 5 to 40mm of rain tomorrow.
