Suspicions have been raised that military explosives on German cargo ships arriving at Egyptian ports could be delivered to Israel and used for the Gaza war.

Lawyers for ELSC, a human rights group, raised the suspicion and filed a lawsuit with a court in Berlin, Germany, on the 30th of last month asking the German-flagged cargo ship "MV Kathryn" to block the transportation of 150 tons of military explosives.

The cargo ship docked at a port in Alexandria, Egypt, on the 28th and is trying to deliver explosives to Elbit Systems, Israel's largest munitions company, ELSC claimed.

He also argued that the explosives in question could be used in Israel's attack on Gaza, causing war crimes and civilian damage.

The ELSC also pointed out that the cargo ship was denied entry to several African and Mediterranean ports, including Angola, Slovenia, Montenegro and Malta, because it was carrying explosives to deliver to Israel.

However, the cargo ship owner denied the allegations, and Israeli military company Elbit did not comment on them.

Egypt's military has also issued a statement saying it has "no cooperation with Israel," while Egypt's transportation authority claimed the cargo ship was for Egyptian munitions production.
