Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Co. said today it has completed the 10th marine discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, Kyodo News reported.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. released about 7,800 tons of contaminated water from the 10th marine discharge that began on the 17th of last month.

Tepco said there was no abnormality in the concentration of tritium, a radioactive substance contained in seawater around the nuclear power plant during the discharge.

The 10th discharge is the sixth of seven discharges that Tepco plans to carry out in 2024.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said it plans to conduct the 11th discharge from February to March next year after the 10th discharge this year.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. started discharging contaminated water into the ocean in August last year and plans to release a total of 54,600 tons seven times in 2024.
