It was found that there is less than a 1% chance that an ordinary employee working for one of the top 100 companies in Korea will take the executive position.

According to a survey of employees of the top 100 listed companies by the Korea CXO Research Institute, it was found that to become an executive, you need to break through the 119 to 1 competition rate as of this year.

As a result of the survey, 7,135 unregistered executives out of 849,406 employees of the top 100 companies were 0.84%.

In particular, employees in the distribution industry were only 0.3% likely to become executives, while the securities industry was relatively high at 2.5%.

Samsung Electronics, which has the largest number of employees among the top 100 companies, has only one out of 110.3 employees wearing executive badges, according to the survey.

The Korea CXO Research Institute explained that there is a fierce competition for the position of new executives, but there is also an atmosphere of avoiding promotion unlike in the past as they often step down two to three years after promotion of executives.
