'Sink' Expanding the Search Zone for Missing Persons on the Venus

The search area has been expanded to find 12 people missing from the sinking of the Jeju Venus.

The Jeju Coast Guard said it has expanded the search area since 6 a.m. today and has deployed more than 400 people, including 50 ships and fishing boats, nine aircraft, soldiers and police, to search for missing people.

No additional missing persons were found in an earlier overnight search.

The Venus, which had 27 sailors on board, sank at 4:30 a.m. yesterday (8th) while carrying a catch in waters 24 kilometers northwest of Biyangdo Island, Jeju, with two of the 15 rescued dead and 12 missing.
