Bitcoin, which has been at an all-time high since former President Donald Trump's election, has surpassed the $86,000 mark for the first time ever.
The price of one Bitcoin, which was once trading at 2 p.m. ET on the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, rose 7.8% from 24 hours ago to $86,671.
Compared to trading at $70,000 on the morning of the 5th before former President Trump's election was confirmed, it jumped more than 20% in a week.
Unlike the Biden administration, which tightened penalties, the virtual currency industry has been hitting daily highs on expectations that Trump's second-term government will implement policies in favor of virtual currency.
