Jeong In-kyo, head of the Trade, Industry and Energy Ministry, said, "The public and private sectors should respond thoroughly to minimize management uncertainty in our companies following the results of the U.S. election."

Chung said at the U.S. Trade Review Conference that changes in the external environment are expected to be inevitable as the new U.S. government has been established and the Republican Party has become the majority.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry is holding a meeting with officials from major industries that are expected to have a significant impact on semiconductors, automobiles, and secondary batteries and seeking joint countermeasures at the public-private level.

It is also said to be considering specific countermeasures, including how to manage the trade balance by significantly expanding U.S. energy imports centered on liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The Ministry of Industry plans to listen to the industry's concerns and suggestions and check the response strategies for each scenario.
