Ministry of Food and Drug Safety operates real-time food information service 'FoodQR' in earnest

"FoodQR," a real-time food information verification service that allows consumers to easily check food safety information on their mobile phones, will be operated in earnest.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said it will expand the scope of food QR application to all foods such as imported foods next year, and domestic agricultural, livestock, and marine products in 2026, starting with domestic manufactured foods this year.

FoodQR allows you to enlarge and view small-letter food information, and audiovisual disabled people can receive summary information through avatar sign language videos, braille conversions, and mobile phone voice conversion apps.

FoodQR is an information delivery system that provides real-time product identification codes, indications of the food, and collection information.

Previously, consumers could check product information such as raw materials through signs written on the packaging, but it was difficult to find the necessary information because there was a lot of content in the limited food packaging area.
