Seoul enters first phase of emergency work to remove snow in the 'first snow forecast at dawn'

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it has entered the first phase of snow removal emergency work with autonomous districts and related organizations from 6 p.m. today (27th) as the first snow of this winter is forecast.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that it is preparing for heavy snow by dispersing snow removal agents throughout the city after detecting signs of snowfall in advance, and mobilizing 5,295 workers and 1,207 snow removal equipment.

An official from Seoul Metropolitan Government asked people to refrain from driving by car and use public transportation if possible, as a drop in temperature could lead to freezing sections on the road in snowy conditions.

Gyeonggi-do Province will operate the first emergency stage of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters from 11 p.m. today (26th) and operate more than 6,000 snow removal equipment to spray snow removal in advance.
