Cosmetic thefts that swept the East of the United States...Damage amount of 2.8 billion won

Local authorities have arrested a group of cosmetic shop thieves that have swept the eastern United States, including New York, New Jersey and Maryland.

Prosecutors in Queens, New York, said on the 26th local time that they have arrested and charged five people with theft and other charges.

They are accused of stealing 2 million dollars worth of Korean cosmetics, including perfumes and high-end cosmetics, and 2.8 billion won worth of our money while visiting famous cosmetics stores in the United States.

Prosecutors say they took the stolen cosmetics to the United States as well as the Dominican Republic, an island country in the Caribbean.

Prosecutors searched their homes and seized $1 million worth of cosmetics.
