Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said he would invest 27 trillion won in the second five-year fine dust management comprehensive plan, an increase of 7 trillion won from the first plan.
Prime Minister Han held a special fine dust countermeasure committee at the Seoul Government Complex today (27th) to deliberate on the second comprehensive plan following the first five-year fine dust management plan ending this year.
Earlier, the government established the first five-year fine dust management comprehensive plan in 2019 to cope with fine dust damage, and achieved results by drastically reducing the annual average concentration of ultra-fine dust.
In particular, the seasonal management system was implemented from December to March of the following year, improving the concentration of ultrafine dust by 36% compared to before the system was implemented.
Han emphasized that creating clean air is not only essential for improving public health and quality of life, but also a major source of national competitiveness, such as tourism and industrial production.
