Jeong In-kyo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, "We have prepared various scenarios to respond to U.S. policy," adding, "We will have behind-the-scenes contact with the U.S. at the best time."

Director Chung said at a "supply chain trade expert meeting" that there is a high possibility that the policy stances that U.S. President-elect Trump has emphasized will become a reality.

He also stressed that he will do his best to stabilize and diversify the supply chain, saying that if universal tariffs are actually imposed, the impact on existing supply chains will be very large.

Chung added that he will keep a close eye on the trade policy trends of the new U.S. administration and try to minimize the burden and maximize the opportunity factors.
