Israeli forces impose curfew south of Lebanon's Ritani River

Israeli forces have banned traffic south of Lebanon's Ritani River from 5 p.m. local time on the 27th, the first day of the ceasefire with Hezbollah, to 7 a.m. the next day.

Israeli army Arabic spokesman Abhihai Adrai warned in an X that Israeli forces were still stationed in southern Lebanon and would respond firmly to any move to break it.

It also imposed a ban on residents already south of the river, saying any residents heading to villages south of the Ritani River or Israeli military camps could be in danger.

As the Lebanese government and Israel, which replaced Hezbollah, agreed to a 60-day cease-fire yesterday, both Hezbollah and Israel began a cease-fire at 4 a.m. on the 27th.

Israeli forces will withdraw from southern Lebanon, Hezbollah will retreat north of the Ritani River, 30 kilometers from the Israeli border, and both sides will not engage in aggressive military action against each other.

In addition, both sides must comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which allows only Lebanese troops and Lebanese UN peacekeepers to be stationed in the buffer zone south of the Ritani River.
