National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik asked that the first budget bill of the 22nd National Assembly be processed through an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties by the 2nd of next month, the legal deadline.
Chairman Woo met with Park Jeong, chairman of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, at the National Assembly and said, "It is one of the important responsibilities of lawmakers to review and finalize the budget bill."
He added that our economy is in a very crisis both internally and externally, adding that it should be a budget that can give hope to the economically weak.
In response, Chairman Park said, "The most important thing is to cut the budget that is misused," and emphasized the stance of the prosecution and the Board of Audit and Inspection to cut special activity expenses.
