Korea Communications Standards Commission Adds Telegram, Cooperation Platform to Block Illegal Information

Starting this month, the Korea Communications Standards Commission has decided to include Telegram as a platform for cooperation in blocking illegal information abroad.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission explained that it has established a system that can quickly request correction of various illegal information such as pornography and drugs as well as deepfake sex crime videos.

As a result, the number of platforms subject to cooperation by the Korea Communications Standards Commission has increased to 12, including Telegram, Google, YouTube, and Instagram.

Earlier, after holding a face-to-face meeting with Telegram in September, the Korea Communications Standards Commission expanded the list of correction requests, sent it on a trial basis, and checked whether it would be deleted, starting with the deletion of digital sex crime information.
