Notre Dame Cathedral, where the roof and spire collapsed in a fire during renovations five years ago.

The spire and bell tower destroyed by the flames have been restored, and the vaulted ceiling, which was lowered, has been rebuilt higher.

The inside of the cream cathedral is splendidly colored by the colored light that comes through the standing glass.

The cross and the Pieta statue, which had avoided the fire, were also back in place.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who made a preliminary tour of the cathedral ahead of the reopening, thanked artisans and donors around the world for taking part in the restoration.
