Former Olympic gold medalist and former president of the Table Tennis Association, Yoo Seung Min, who served as an IOC member, officially launched his bid for the 42nd chairman of the Korean Olympic Committee.
Former chairman Yoo Seung Min held a running conference at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul and said that the value of physical education is endless, but bad issues have recently emerged, and that he has stepped up to turn worries and concerns into happiness.
Amid a flurry of opposition candidates against Chairman Lee Ki-heung, who is seeking a third term, former Chairman Yoo said he could pursue unification but said there was no need to hurry.
Former chairman Yoo also emphasized a "horizontal relationship," saying, "If athletes shine and can be improved, we will lose to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism 100 or 1,000 times, but if there is anything to win, it will be a clear fighting chicken more than anyone else."
Floating the number "42" on the stage and giving the meaning that the 42-year-old Yoo Seung Min will challenge the 42nd presidential election, he said the score of beating China's Wang Hao at the Athens Olympics was 4 to 2, adding that he will lead the athletic society fairly and transparently with the spirit of crossing the Great Wall.
