'Legendary' Lee Yong-dae Enters Badminton World Federation Hall of Fame

Lee Yong-dae, a gold medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has become a member of the Badminton World Federation's 'Honorary Hall of Fame.'

The Badminton World Federation officially announced on its website that "Badminton legend Lee Yong-dae and China's Chen Long have been chosen as Hall of Fame members."

The Badminton World Federation said, "Lee Yong-dae, one of the most talented doubles players of all time, captivated fans by showing off his charm in a versatile manner," adding, "At the age of 19, he won an Olympic mixed doubles gold medal and won 46 Super Series and World Tour titles."

He also said, "He is a player who has redefined the doubles game," and added, "He showed amazing defense and skill."

Lee became the 10th Korean player to enter the Hall of Fame after Park Joo-bong, Chung Myung-hee, Chung So-young, Ra Kyung-min, and Soo Soo-hyun.

Lee won the mixed doubles gold medal with Lee Hyo-jung at the 2008 Beijing Games, his first Olympic Games, and in the 2012 London Games, he teamed up with Jung Jae-sung to win the men's doubles bronze medal.
