"We are watching the situation very closely and with concern," the U.N. secretariat said of Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of a state of emergency.
U.N. Secretary-General spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a regular briefing at the U.N. headquarters in New York that "the situation is changing rapidly."
"At this point, I can only say this," spokesman Dujarric said. I will share it as soon as I have additional things to say," he added.
Dujarric's response came as reporters from around the United Nations asked for the UN's position on the news of the emergency war in South Korea.
