The general response is that President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law without justification to escape the political predicament.

The BBC pointed out that President Yoon has put forward the threat of anti-state forces and North Korea, but it quickly became clear that the declaration of martial law was due to his political crisis.

It also said protesters gathered outside the National Assembly shouted for the arrest of Yoon Suk Yeol, although it was unclear what would happen.
