The White House said, "We are confident that the Korean people will resolve the issue peacefully, democratically and in accordance with the Constitution," regarding the report of President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment in connection with martial law in the South Korean National Assembly.National Security Council spokesman Sean Sabet
wrote on social media after the impeachment motion against President Yoon was reported to the National Assembly plenary session, saying South Korea is showing democratic resilience.

He emphasized that democratic values and the rule of law are and should continue to be the core of the Korea-U.S. alliance.

Sabet also posted yesterday that he was seriously concerned about President Yoon's declaration of martial law, but that martial law was lifted after the National Assembly voted unanimously.
