Recently, police officers were spotted patrolling with a ball-shaped robot in China, making headlines.
The robot is an RT-G autonomous spherical robot developed by Chinese robot manufacturer Logon Technology and is known to be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology to perform various functions.
RT-G autonomous spherical robots can operate on both land and water, and can travel up to 35 km/h.
In addition, it can withstand up to 4 tons of impact, so it can operate reliably even in dangerous situations.
The robot is equipped with loudspeakers and sound wave dispersors, which can also be used for large-scale crowd control or noise control.
Facial recognition software can be used to identify wanted persons or suspects and can also fire net guns to knock them down or prevent them from moving.
These functions are expected to help police patrols more efficiently and safely.
Logon Technology explained that RT-G autonomous spherical robots are designed to help or replace humans in dangerous environments.
The robot is expected to be used not only in police but also in various fields such as disaster relief and military operations.
