Gasoline and diesel prices at domestic gas stations rose again this week, rising for the ninth consecutive week.
In the second week of December, the average selling price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide rose 4.3 won to 1,646.2 won per liter from the previous week, according to the Korea National Oil Corporation's oil price information system Opinet.
The highest price was Seoul, up 1.3 won from the previous week to 1,708.5 won, while the cheapest Daegu was up 4.3 won to 1,613.9.
The average diesel price at gas stations nationwide also rose 6.9 won to 1,489.2 won per liter this week.
Oil prices at domestic gas stations are also expected to continue to rise as international oil prices have recently risen due to expectations of a rate cut by the U.S. Fed in December, signs of stronger sanctions against Russia by the West, and intensifying unrest in the Middle East.
