Ahead of the impeachment vote to determine the fate of Yoon Suk Yeol's president, the pros and cons hold large-scale rallies across Seoul.

Let's connect with reporters and hear more details.

Reporter Yang Dong-hoon, there are much bigger rallies scheduled today than during the week, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, large-scale rallies have been held every day on Capitol Boulevard in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, since President Yoon Suk Yeol declared emergency martial law.

The "Emergency Action for Social Reform," which includes the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and civic groups, reported to the police that it will hold a "candlelight march" at 3 p.m. today (13th).

After holding a resolution contest for President Yoon's resignation in front of the Yeouido transit center at 1 p.m., the cargo solidarity will start marching at 2 p.m. and join the Capitol Boulevard.

At 1:30 p.m., the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, media unions, and public transport unions will gather around Yeouido to hold a resolution meeting, and the "University Student Situation Conference," which brings together university students from more than 30 places across the country, will also hold the second situation conference.

The teenagers also decided to speak out.

About 30 members of the Special Youth Conference, an organization under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, issued a collective resignation letter and urged the president to step down, saying that the Yoon administration, which destroyed youth policy, trampled democracy with emergency martial law.

There will also be a counter-rally.

The National Movement Headquarters of the Republic of Korea, where conservative groups gathered, reported that it would hold a rally of 20,000 people in front of the Donghwa Duty Free Shop in Gwanghwamun at 1 p.m. today.

There are so many rallies, so there must be a lot of concern about traffic congestion, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, in particular, Yeouido, where rallies in favor of impeachment are held everywhere, is expected to be severe.

Last week, the police planned to control only the Capitol Boulevard and the surrounding roads and pass through the National Assembly Boulevard normally.

As the crowds were much larger than expected, the National Assembly Boulevard filled with citizens was also controlled.

As organizers predict that more people will gather than last week, most roads in Yeouido are likely to be closed today.

In addition, downtown areas such as Gwanghwamun, where counterattacks are held, are also expected to be stagnant.

The police asked you to use public transportation such as subways if possible, and to check traffic information in advance if you are forced to use a vehicle.

The city plans to cooperate with the police and fire department to manage safety and operate additional subways.

Temporary toilets will be set up in Yeouido and Gwanghwamun areas, and the opening of toilets in nearby private buildings will also be increased.
