Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok held a meeting of foreign-related ministers at the Seoul Government Complex yesterday to discuss countermeasures in the trade sector.
Economic and diplomatic ministries gather together to respond to external uncertainties such as the launch of the second Trump administration in the United States.
Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol, Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Ahn Deok-geun, and Trade Minister Jeong In-kyo attended.
At yesterday's meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, economic ministries, and overseas missions in the United States agreed to contact the U.S. and communicate with the private industry under close cooperation.
The government plans to hold regular meetings with foreign ministers to check trade issues and supply chain stability and establish countermeasures.
At yesterday's meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Choi said, "The Korean economy is capable and capable of overcoming uncertainties," adding, "We will do our best to respond to possible changes in the foreign trade environment without wavering."
