Han Dong-hoon, former representative of the People's Power, resigned five months after taking office.

Han said at a press conference that he had no regrets about the choice in favor of impeachment, and later left a meaningful message to his supporters that he would not give up.

Amid repeated confusion in the ruling party, Democratic Party Chairman Lee Jae-myung has repeatedly called for participation in the National Security Council.

Han Dong-hoon, former representative of the press conference, please tell us in detail.

The first word of former representative Han Dong-hoon's press conference was, "I'm putting down the leadership of the People's Power Party."

He then said the resignation of the supreme council members caused the leadership to collapse, making it impossible for him to carry out his duties as a representative.

However, he made it clear that it is the spirit of true conservatism that has taken the lead in preventing the illegal martial law of the president produced by the party, and that he does not regret voting for impeachment.

However, he also did not forget the check against Representative Lee Jae-myung, saying that martial law is not justifying the Democratic Party's runaway.

Let's hear former CEO Han's remarks.

[Han Dong-hoon / All People's Power Representative: That night, I was so afraid that I wouldn't be able to stop it. It's painful to think of our heartbroken supporters, but I still don't regret it. The timer for Lee Jae-myung's trial is going on without stopping.

At the press conference, the floor leadership, including floor leader Kwon Sung-dong, who has virtually pressured former representative Han to step down, also visited and saw him off.

Former representative Han left the National Assembly after greeting his supporters, and in the process, he left the word "I don't give up."

With Han's resignation, the people's power is now going to the emergency committee system, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is the sixth time since the launch of the People's Power, and it is already the fifth time in the Yoon Suk Yeol government.

The general meeting of lawmakers is currently underway, and discussions are expected to take place over the appointment of the emergency committee chairman.

Earlier in the morning, a senior meeting was held.

Rep. Park Yong-eun, who attended the meeting, said she believes the party's personnel to lead the party's stability, harmony, and reform are appropriate.

When a new leadership is launched, the biggest task is to deal with the internal feud within the party.

Han's aides reacted furiously, saying that even though they knew that even pro-Yoon Seok-yeol-gye could not prevent impeachment, they held Han responsible and even led him to resign.

In a phone call with YTN, Rep. Chin-gye criticized that the public will evaluate the situation, saying that one representative has been pushed out of the old group called pro-Yoon-gye.

Kim Jong-hyuk, the former supreme council member, pointed out on SBS radio that the lawmakers who claim responsibility were where they were on the day of martial law, and that it is like asking for a bag because they take out a drowning person.

Apart from the internal feud within the party, the floor leadership is striving to maintain its presence against the large opposition party in order to take the lead in the political situation.

Kwon Sung-dong, the floor leader of the National Assembly, said at a general meeting of lawmakers a little while ago that Lee Jae-myung's remarks of the nature of "overstepping authority" have been made since the impeachment bill was passed.

He said that the impeachment of the president cannot be a permit to run for president to cover up Lee's crimes, and that he should apologize for handling the budget cut alone before demanding an extra budget.

Let's also look at the Democratic Party situation.

You're repeatedly demanding participation in the State Security Council, right?

[Reporter]
Following yesterday, Chairman Lee Jae-myung reiterated his call for the National Security Council to participate in the ruling party at this morning's meeting.

In particular, today, the leadership seems to be reaching out, saying that it can be taken by the people or limited to the economy or people's livelihood.

But at the end of the meeting, he said, "We should not let an unrepentant conservative party defending martial law come back to power," so let's hear it for ourselves.

[Lee Jae-myung / Democratic Party leader: I defend this maniacal act that can't be called crazy. And I'm doing my best to bring him back to life. Aren't you collectively trying to get that power back to life?]

The Democratic Party is also focusing on so-called "leaving the power of the ruling party" by driving the impeachment momentum.

The Democratic Party of Korea, which claimed that the power of the people is no longer the ruling party due to the suspension of the president's duties, defines martial law as a "civil war" and is making a strong effort through special prosecutors and parliamentary investigations.

Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the National Assembly, reiterated the need for a special prosecutor for rebellion and a special prosecutor for Kim Gun-hee in his remarks at the general meeting of lawmakers.

It is to prevent acting President Han Deok-soo from exercising his veto power, and the pressure for a quick impeachment trial is also continuing.

The appointment of a constitutional judge with three vacancies is also being repeatedly pressed for the ruling party's cooperation in accordance with its plan to complete it within this year.

Rep. Kim Han-kyu of the Democratic Party met with reporters after the general meeting of lawmakers and said he will hold a two-day hearing on the 23rd and 24th, and push ahead with the goal of processing the appointment motion at the plenary session on the 30th.
