Five people were killed in a series of shootings in northern France, AFP reported.
The man, who killed the owner of a freight forwarder, two security guards and two migrants at three locations near Dunkirk on the afternoon of the 14th, turned himself in to the police two hours after the first crime.
Police say the criminal has no criminal history and is investigating the motive.
An official familiar with the investigation said they are looking into the possibility that the criminal may have been in conflict while working for the first victim's company.
Illegal firearms were found in the criminal's vehicle, and if related charges such as murder are applied, they can be sentenced to up to life in prison.
