In the future, when foreigners stay in China for transit, they will be able to stay up to 10 days without a visa.
China's National Immigration Service announced that the transit visa waiver period has been extended from 72 hours and 144 hours to 240 hours.
General passport holders from 54 countries, including Korea, the United States, Japan, Russia, and Brazil, can stay for up to 10 days without a visa when they travel to a third country via China.
However, the validity period of the passport must remain at least three months, and the entry requirements for third countries must also be met.
Chinese authorities announced the move, increasing the number of visa-free airports by 21 and adding five provinces to stay.
As a result, foreigners who received visa-free benefits through 60 major Chinese airports, including Beijing and Shanghai, can stay up to 10 days in 24 locations in China.
