"Impeachment Prosecution" Application for Provisional Disposition for Rescission of Office of Audit and Inspection Choi Hae-soo

Choi Hae-soo, the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, whose duties were suspended after the impeachment motion was passed by the National Assembly, filed an injunction today (17th) to the Constitutional Court to release the suspension of his duties.

If the Constitutional Court accepts the provisional injunction, Choi can temporarily perform his duties until a decision is made on the main case.

The impeachment bill against Choi passed the National Assembly plenary session led by the Democratic Party of Korea on the 5th.

This is the reason for Choi's poor audit of the Oval Office and the relocation of the official residence.

Lee Chang-soo, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, who was handed over to the impeachment trial on the same day as Choi, also applied for an injunction to the Constitutional Court on the 9th.

The Constitutional Court held the first hearing of Choi's impeachment today.
