Red postbox, it's hard to find it these days, right?
It has disappeared quickly since the 1990s when communications became popular, and now there are only about 8,000 left in the country,
The
post box transforms into a whole new look in 40 years.

In the days when there were no computers or phones, the mailbox was the only means of conveying news.
In 1993, there were more than 57,000 in the country, but now there are only about 8,000 left.
In order to catch up with the passage of time, the post box is trying to transform for the first time in 40 years.
It has more than doubled in size, and the material has also changed from plastic to iron steel plates to stronger and more eco-friendly.
Previously, only envelopes could be put in, but you can also put a box-sized parcel of Post Office No. 2 by increasing the size of the box.
You can pre-register the parcel using the QR code in the mailbox.
The biggest difference is the new 'eco' box for waste medicine and coffee capsule collection.
Potion cannot be used because it may leak, and only powder or pills can be sealed in a bag.
Coffee capsules throw away coffee grounds separately and put only aluminum capsules in bags.
There are also concerns as the number of pitches grows more than six times and uses become more diverse.
[Seo Yeon-soon / Gwanghwamun Post Office Postal Logistics Department Head: There is a concern that the number of garbage dumps will increase. Please note that if mail is damaged due to filth dumping such as cigarette butts, fines may be imposed....]
The Korea Post plans to expand and install new post boxes in more than 1,000 locations by next year, starting with 90 locations in Jongno and Gangnam, Seoul.
